“Using Tinder to travel is something I’ve done several times. I’m originally from Australia, but I studied in Upstate New York with a soccer scholarship. I did a double major in biology and geology. During my bachelor, our team travelled around the US a lot. From tournaments in Texas to Florida and Washington DC. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the chance to see many things. We’d often drive straight to the hotel, train, go to sleep and play the tournament the next day. During my summer break and after my bachelor, however, I started to travel further and longer. As I said, I often use Tinder to travel. I write down in my profile that I’m looking for girls to show me around, and that’s how I meet many people. In Puerto Rico, I met five girls for instance. It was clear from the start that it wasn’t about hooking up. I use Tinder as a tool to connect with people and so far, that has worked out great. If I’m gonna continue playing soccer professionally after I return from my travels? I don’t know. At the moment, I hardly play, only as a social thing with kids I meet on the streets. I’ve been playing since I was 5, so many years of my life have been devoted to soccer. It has given me a lot of opportunities, but a break from playing is not bad either.”
